Effective Communication Skills in Nursing

Question: Discuss about theEffective Communication Skills in Nursing. Answer: Introduction Madam, on behalf of the hospital community I acknowledge the fact that you have been facing some issues in the hospital. Whatever inappropriate behavior you had to deal with has been a matter of disgrace. I would like to affirm that this room is allocated to you until you are restored to health and discharged. Therefore, you have absolute right to be here without being bothered by other people. As far as the medicines and your packing are concerned, the right persons will surely come to help you with them. Madam, you can be certain that your presence is precious for us here. The hospital authority has acknowledged the adverse situation that you have faced and they have sent an official apology letter to you to express their heartfelt regret. I would request you not to make a general assumption of the staff here based on this experience. Your expectations are highly justified and definitely, they will be met on urgent basis. Madam, the relationship between nurse and patient is interactive, based on trust and respect. I am glad that you let me know your grievances. I completely understand your reason of discomfort. However, we try our best to maintain a patient friendly environment but it is only due to the pressure of time that inconvenience has occurred to you. Now, it is my duty to take care of your needs so that you are left no complaints. I would certainly report the improper behavior of the staff to the Director of Patience Care Services who will look into the matter to sort things out. Educator: You are expected to build an easy communication with the patient and there must not be any communication constraint on your part (Papastavrou et al. 2014). Besides, it is your responsibility to take primary initiatives to solve the issues in case the patient faces any (Arnold and Boggs 2015). Student: Your guidance and advice is highly valued. I will definitely abide by them and eagerly look forward to work with you in future.
